| My family homesteaded
next to Summit Ranch, now Pride Vineyards, at the
top of Spring Mountain in 1912. I was born on the
mountain in 1927. While my two brothers were born
at the local hospital, I was actually born in the
foreman’s house at the Conradi Vineyard and
Winery, now Robert Keenan Winery, where my father
was the winemaker and vineyard manager from 1922 –
1935 – though Prohibition.
Today, my wife, Carol, and I own and operate a B
& B, Deer Run Inn, on Spring Mountain Road.
I am currently working to produce a short biography
of my life on Spring Mountain, which will be included
in this history section in the near future. For the
moment, please enjoy a small sampling of my Spring
Mountain history collection.
